A shutter bolt is a Ø 10 mm calibrated iron
rod (althought Ø 12 mm or higher diametres are also available), with a
welded handle and a hook in both ends.
By turning the rod, the hooks lodge into bridges knocked into
the frames from windows, balcony doors etc. to close them.
This traditional system to close using shutter bolts is the most
appropiated to be used on wood carpentry, no matter if it is for
windows or outdoor blinds.
Actually, the hooks action forces an accurate closure even if the door leaf cambers.
A shutter bolt is a no failure device with unlimited duration.
